Maisie Lopez (b. 1996) is a documentary photographer based in Bristol and London, England. Her practice focuses on the exploration of personal themes, traumas, and the complex emotions tied to her experiences. After graduating from the BA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at London College of Communication, Lopez has developed a refined approach to visual storytelling.

Her work is deeply rooted in introspection, as she reflects on issues that have directly impacted her, allowing her to create raw and emotionally charged imagery. Her preferred medium is analogue photography, with a particular focus on medium format, a choice that underscores her commitment to a slow and deliberate process.

This hands-on approach allows her to engage fully with each phase of the creation process, from capturing the image to the final print. Lopez's work has been showcased in prominent venues, including the Copeland Gallery in Peckham and The Art House by Acrylisize in Bethnal Green.

She has received the Mues + Burman Photobook Design Award, and has been nominated for the Leica Oskar Barnack Newcomer Award 2025 for her new project, Good Grief, where she hand-made a photobook, which explores the complex emotions surrounding the death of a parent and the emotional spectrum of grief.
